The 22nd Annual Beach Volleyball Tournament
|
This year marks the 22nd Annual Co-ed Beach Volleyball Tournament. The
first volleyball court that was built in Broome County was constructed
in Otsiningo Park (home of the Spiedie Fest/Balloon Rally) in 1983,
through the cooperative efforts of the county parks department and the
Binghamton Volleyball Club. A few years later, two courts were built in
a different location, and then expanded to four courts. At this time,
the Spiedie Fest/Balloon Rally was looking to expand and include a
volleyball tournament, and with the help of the club members it was a
success and grew from year to year. Through this tournament, volleyball
has expanded throughout the county to where there are now over a dozen
sand courts and many leagues. Binghamton Volleyball is still a major
component in the tournament success and promoting volleyball throughout
Broome County. To find out more about Binghamton Volleyball, with all
the men’s and women’s teams, you can visit the website at
www.tier.net/bv.

If you like the sand, sun and playing
volleyball, then get your team together and sign up. It does
not matter what level that you play as we have both
competitive and recreational levels. With enough teams
registered, we will even break into Gold and Silver
divisions so that you get more playing time and more prizes.
Volleyball T-shirts and other giveaways will be given to
each team captain upon registration the morning of the
tournament to distribute to his or her team members. More
details on the tournament as well as tournament rules and
details on the parking will be sent to you after your team
has registered and paid. All profits go to a variety of
local charities.
Once in the park, you can enjoy the great variety of food,
fun, music & entertainment when you are not playing and
